We truly are in unprecedented times, and while the world gradually goes on lockdown, and our future remains uncertain, there are so many rays of sunshine to be thankful for! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In a world so busy and fast-paced with non-stop work and travel - we can now take this opportunity to spend time with/take care of our loved ones, reconnect with our true selves, reflect and plan for our spectacular future ahead ✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And our planet is healing too. With a massive drop in travel and closure of factories and industries worldwide, there have already been reports of a 25% reduction in carbon emissions in China from 3rd February - 1st March. CREA has estimated that this is equivalent to 200 million tons of carbon dioxide -- more than half the entire annual emissions output of the UK 😱⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The often murky canals of Venice, Italy are also appearing to run clear with fish visible in the water as the boat traffic has died down, bringing hope that perhaps we can change the course of the impending environmental crisis if we continue to act now 🌍🙏🏽✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As Jacqueline Klopp, co-director of the Center for Sustainable Urban Development at Columbia University in New York City says, “As we move to restart these economies, we need to use this moment to think about what we value...do we want to go back to the status quo, or do we want to tackle these big structural problems and restructure our economy and reduce emissions and pollution?”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What do you choose?👀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thoughts and prayers to everyone across the world - we got this! 💪🏽🙏🏽🌍☀️🌈💚✨⠀⠀⠀
