Africa Day Lookbook

We’re back with another day of celebration! The 25th May is Africa Day, a day that commemorates the foundation of the Organisation of African Unity – which happened tomorrow in 1963. Beyond that though, it is a day to celebrate African culture and heritage! In honour of these celebrations, we are showcasing 7 pieces in our collection that use bold African prints or styles – a great way to brighten up your day if you ask me! What better way to kick off a lookbook than with this hand-made statement gown. Up-cycled by founder Jordache, the Kente fabric features bright colours and a geometric print. It can be worn off the shoulder, one shoulder or full shoulders depending on the look you’re going for! I would wear this to any formal event this summer for a stand-out look!

For a more casual event, why not go for our Mama Africa Flax Caftan? Simply slip-on and go. It’s a great low-fuss option for those who want style and comfort. Can be dressed up or down and is a super unique piece that will have everyone asking where you got it.

 

Designed by our founder Jordache this Co-Ord, as the name suggests, is truly divine. It features a stunning and one-of-a-kind print that really catches the eye. The fishtail skirt that starts as form fitting and flares out is super flattering and combined with the strappy crop-top ensures you won’t be too hot this summer (not that that tends to be an issue with the British weather!). Great for weddings and special events.

I love a maxi skirt, they’re such a staple piece for the spring and summer (not to mention they are super comfy). This one is no different. The stunning blue and yellow fabric makes this piece far from your run-of-the-mill maxi skirts. Not only that, but it features an elasticated waistband and ties, so you can adjust the fit yourself. Can be dressed up or down depending on your plans.

If you prefer a more structured outfit, this Blazer + Trouser Suit is for you. The gorgeous patchwork print and black feature panel makes this suit a perfect choice for those kind of days where you have to rush from work straight to an event as it transitions seamlessly from day to night.

The long elasticated top panel means it can sit comfortably on your hips or at your chest, without leaving you feeling constricted. This amazing West African Caftan really packs a punch. The royal blue peacock print and striking golden fabric makes this piece a real head-turner. It is a full-length kaftan with wide-sleeves making it breathable and comfortable. The waist belt can also be used as a headwrap, making it another customisable outfit.
